SAMER SOLTAN & THIMBLE “DELPHI” EP

All ears - and eyes pinned to our third release, coming in bold and fast from Belgium-based Samer Soltan, joined by Thimble. ‘Delphi’ is a three-part EP: each track christened by their names, but very much characterized by their individual nature in this powerful three-part offering.

‘Julio’, as bold as it rolls off the tongue, takes us into the release with mighty vigor. Like a high voltage, turbulent storm, he rides high on suspense; Julio blazes bright with contrasting structures which bounce off each other, tinged with sandpaper swooshes, high voltage buzzes and that occasional rattling kick. A dancefloor mover within the first entry, Julio paces faster into tougher territory halfway through, as it meanaces towards the end with razored dags, all underpinned with a sultry melodic framework.

‘Delphi’, our star name of the EP ensures all focus is on her, falling into focus with its gritty 4x4 bassline at first introduction. Yet there’s a refined - a more intricate catch to ‘Delphi’, whilst still brewing up a chaotic storm. Dashes of silver shivers run up and down her spine, and within the abyss of her strong, dynamic nature we catch ourselves in awe by the high emotions which are driven through at full speed. Left mesmerized - dazed - and in a headspace of mass deliriousness; a state of higher sensation.

A calm, refined close which breezes through, ‘Ajna’ completes our whirlwind ride in slowed-down serenity. Back to basics with her distorted vocals; a haunted presence which encapsulates the soul - shimmering and swirling into higher atmospheres. A breakbeat peppered with soft, skipping drum kicks fly far and wide, blowing around its beautiful-crafted romantic cosmos.
