KEITH HOLLAND ‘MILENAR’ EP
Milenar - millennium: a splash into the new age of modern technology, musically speaking. Keith Holland makes his mark with this four-track EP, where he toys with an array of synthesized sounds and digital snags - an EP engineered for the electronic age.
Its title track embodies all things mechanical: sonic soundwaves drive along the senses, with an accession of data glitches rising into the cloud, as the monologued structure helps pin at least some stability to normality.
’Neologia’ fires up fearlessly, from its loud glitches in the beginning, where chunks of razored chords, machine-infused twinkles and a gentle soothing melody dance around each other in a lightning-speed cycle of succession.
‘Ressalva’ gives us a moment to breathe: a smooth, insatiable melody rises like the sun dawning upon a new day; a slow-burning and luscious melody illuminates brightly, as rays of high-pitched chords dazzle and amaze.
Closing track ‘Dinastia’ showcases everything learnt beforehand for the final stand, whilst taking us back to the EPs roots with a sprinkle of flitting eloquence. Kicking up a storm with its misty, jagged bassline, high harmonic chords ride upon the technological waves, searching for their soul - sailing to a voyage of the curious mind, right until the end.
